Format: An American television serial drama. Prison Break features a serialized story structure similar to that of its first season show 24. 
 On October 24, 2007, The Hollywood Reporter under development, tentatively titled Prison Break: Cherry Hill. The series was to revolve around an upper-middle-class housewife, Molly, and her stint in a women's prison. However, the producers' original idea to introduce Molly in the third season of Prison Break was later dropped due to the writers' strike. The new series would instead begin under the Prison Break brand similar to CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.

The show has just played out. You get to a point creatively where you feel all the stories have been told. Each episode tends to be 45 minutes. The main theme in the series is conflict.

Platform: broadcast on Fox for four seasons, with 81 episodes from August 29, 2005 to May 15, 2009. Prison Break in form of game can be played at X-Box 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3.The day was released in Germany on March 19, 2010, through the rest of Europe a week later; in North America on March 30 for the PC and PS3 versions, and on April 1 for the Xbox 360 version; and in Australia on April 12

Purpose: to entertain. The character Lincoln borrows at first is presented as the killer, which later on will be found that it all was planned so that the real killer wouldn’t be found, this makes the audience feel sympathy to the character. It entertains the audience making them understand what American prisons look like, and make people understand that death penalties is wrong because sometimes is only revealed that the accused person is innocent.

Genre: the series would be classified as a crime series, however it includes suspense, mystery and action.

Target audience: the series was made for 18-34 years old once it contains adult content such as violence, bad language, drug references and sexual references.
